THE SECRET POWER OF  FAITH TO SUCCEED. (By Alex Muwonge)

Progressive living to attain life aspirations and achievements is everyone’s dream. Every individual yearns to leap into the future and live a successful life. However despite the earnest desire to move forward many people feel stuck in one place. Though success greatly differs from individual to individual, there are some that feel have made some progress but feel have stayed in the same position for many years as though they are held by a concrete cast.

In the following pages, I share with you spiritual and universal principles that have been used through-out the ages and in the history of man-kind and many have attested to improved lives and attainment of their dreams.

INTRODUCTION

When we talk about faith and success, these two words bring a mix of feelings among people. Your views of faith and success are greatly influenced by the background of how you were raised, the people you associate with, your culture and family heritage. Take some time to reflect:

In literal terms, for some faith is connected to belief. Your belief in GOD for a particular expectation to come to pass or  happen.

  1. What is faith to you?

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

To some success is connected to well being of an individual. The kind of work they do, how much they earn, the possessions; car, house, farm etc. they have and to others success is freedom,

  1. What does success mean to you?
    ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

When these two questions were paused to you, I believe you got mental pictures in your mind of what faith and success meant to you. As humans we think in pictures. And the image you hold in your mind is a direct reflection of your belief. Whatever you think about, you bring about. Be careful what you think. Never think about what you don’t want. Don’t talk about things you don’t want. Don’t entertain ideas you don’t want showing up in your life. Don’t sit around gossiping, whining, complaining and griping like other people. If you don’t want it, don’t think about or talk about it. Put it out of your mind..

Many people have grown up in environments or circumstances where they are constantly reminded;

  • Money doesn’t grow on trees.
  • It’s ok to be poor.
  • We can’t afford it.
  • We can’t have it all.
  • Be realistic.
  • Jobs are hard to find these days.
  • You will never mount to anything.
  • It’s hard to start a business.

So if you evaluate your life these have become self-fulfilling prophesies since you meditate (think about ) them most of the time and  talk about how  hard life is.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. (Proverbs 18:21).  Meaning this fruit is either life (good) or death (bad).

WHAT IS FAITH?

Now faith is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we understand that the universe was ordered by the word of God, so that what is visible came into being through the invisible. (Hebrews 11:1,3)

To have faith, is to see what you hope for (healing, better relationships, a well-paying job, increase in your finances etc) as already accomplished. It’s not yet physical, but the eyes of faith help you to realize or materialize it from the invisible world to the visible. Having faith can be likened to a pregnant woman. The moment she realizes she is pregnant, she starts looking forward to the end of 9 months when she will finally hold her baby. Although she can’t see the baby now, she knows the baby will soon be manifested. Because she can’t see the baby now does not mean the baby isn’t in existence.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.  If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:21)

Key words: If you have faith, and don’t doubt, nothing will be impossible for you because you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

So when we hold doubt as we believe GOD for something, fear grips us.
We think of plan B.

It was Job that said, “ For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3: 25)

Our thoughts correlate with the object of focus. Our thoughts attract that upon which they are directed or focused. Our fearful thoughts are just as creative and magnetic in attracting trouble to us as are the constructive and positive thoughts in attracting welcoming results.

So no matter the character of your thoughts they do create after their own kind. They create after their pitch, intensity, emotional quality, depth of feeling and vibratory plane. They are proportional to their consistency, intensity and power.

HOW DO I GROW FAITH, REMOVE DOUBT AND SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN TO BE MOVED ?

Let’s get to the foundation of this principle. There are universal principles that if you understand how they operate and work and you align yourself to them, they will work for you. Just as we know that gravity pulls all objects or things to the earth and that if you jumped from a tall building will fall down whether you are good or bad and possibly even die. In the same manner faith works in accordance to the Law of Belief.

The law of belief states that whatever you believe and feel to be true long enough will become your reality. It means that whatever you sub-consciously feel to be true in your inner world (thoughts) long enough, will always show up in your outer world (experience).

We are three in one. We are spirit beings (the real you that lives on when you die), we possess a soul and live in a physical body. The soul connects the spirit to the body. Our Soul is composed of the Mind, Will and Emotions. Our mind is further divided into the conscious mind and sub-conscious mind.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONSCIOUS AND SUB-CONSCIOUS MIND

CONSCIOUS MIND SUB-CONSCIOUS MIND
Reasoning mind Creative mind
Decision making ( Will) Seat of emotions and feelings
Thinking ( were the thoughts are created)
Waking mind Sleeping mind
Connected to the 5 senses Intuition
Rational mind Irrational mind
Objective mind Subjective mind

The conscious mind is also referred to as the objective or rational mind. It is connected to the five senses of seeing, smelling, touching, feeling and hearing. Whatever information you receive through your conscious mind is impressed or downloaded to the sub-conscious mind.

What movies do you watch? What music do you listen to? Who do you hang around? These are framing what you think about life and the thoughts you hold will produce the life you have, whether good or bad. Always remember that the conscious mind is the watch man at the gate. It protects the sub-conscious mind from false impressions.

What have you picked from the five senses and impressed to your sub-conscious?

For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7)   The heart (source or center) is the sub-conscious mind.

The sub-conscious mind controls your heart, nervous system and other body systems that you consciously have no control over. It’s your creative faculty, and the seat of emotions and feelings. It perceives through intuition and it’s also referred to as the irrational mind.

Have you ever thought of someone and they called you? Have you heard someone say, my heart told me not to take the taxi and it got an accident?
That was the sub-conscious mind at work; communicating intuitively, through your emotions / feelings.

Whatever you claim mentally and feel as true, your sub-conscious mind will accept as true.Your sub-conscious mind will accept and bring it forth into your experience.

LAWS OF THE SUB CONSCIOUS MIND

  • It doesn’t know the difference between real life and what is fake. Have you ever had a bad dream and woke up sweating like it was real? Experiments have been made about athletes. Just by them thinking about being at the track running their heart beat and other organs responded like though they were at the running track itself.
  • It works based on the law of belief. Any belief you have becomes harder to change the moment it’s stored in your sub-conscious mind.
  • All your experiences, events, conditions are produced by your
sub- conscious mind in relation to your thoughts. Every thought held long enough manifests in the physical.
  • You get what you expect.
  • Time passes slower.
  • It’s always watching and listening. Any idea once planted stays until it’s challenged.

You are today what you have pre-dominantly thought you are. The programs that were in grained in you from childhood are controlling your results. If you want a better future, change your thoughts (programs) by changing what you deposit in your sub-conscious mind through your conscious mind.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reaps. (Galatians 6: 7)

The subconscious mind is the garden and your thoughts are the seeds you sow. What are you sowing in you? Are you sowing weeds or the fruit you wish to see? You will not sow beans and reap maize or sow oranges and reap mangoes. Likewise if sow defeat, failure, procrastination and fear that is what you will reap.

HOW DO YOU PROGRAM THE SUB-CONSCIOUS MIND?

You are constantly programming your sub-conscious mind through repetition.  Something that you repeatedly experience through the five senses gets deposited into the sub conscious mind.  So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Joshua told the Israelites, “ Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8)

What you meditate on and speak about day and night brings forth prosperity and success or defeat and failure.

There are proven steps you can take today towards the life you desire. This will cause conception of a successful life through faith and it will be a matter of time for you to start seeing the sweet fruits of your endeavors.

Step 1: DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step taken in the direction of your destination. Decide what you want in life. Dream big. Think unlimited. Have a vision for your life. I have had an experience watching a lady and close friends in a boutique. She goes and tries on the dress she really loves, comes and asks the friends, “ How do I look?” In chorus they respond, “ That dress is not nice on you.” Despite the fact that she loves the dress she decides to try another and another until the friends approve.  She could have bought a dress she may never wear just because she needed to impress her friends. Some people go through life living the dreams and career aspirations of their parents just because their parents forced them to study a particular course. Take charge of your life and decide what you want. Don’t live someone else’s life.

What kind of life would you want to experience if there was no limitation. Write it down.

Take time to write down the things you wish to accomplish or see in your life.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4)  It was Luke that wrote, “ So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?  If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:9-11)

The starting point is to ask from GOD our unlimited source all we need and desire in life knowing that nothing is impossible for He has given us a blank cheque.

Step 2: WRITE IT IN PRESENT TENSE.

You have always written your goals and or things you desire to achieve in future tense.  Probably you have not seen them come to pass. Or you have struggled to have them. Change today and write them as already accomplished and in the present tense. Remember what we impress on our sub-conscious now, is what it works towards bringing into existence.

For-example you can write:

  • I earn 5000 USD every month.
  • I travel the world and bring hope to the suffering.
  • I am highly favored.

Put it on a card (size of a business card), carry it every-day. Read it as often as possible. At least twice a day. It’s by this same principle that some Christian faithful carry the prayer leaflet of their favorite saint or novena and recite it daily at particular hours and have testified about of an answered prayer.

Write in Present tense your goals or dreams using the given example.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Step 3: CREATE VISUALS

The mind thinks in form of images or pictures. If I ask you the color of your blanket, in your mind you go to the bedroom and you literary see the blanket.

When we desired to build our house, we made a blue print and a 3D artistic impression of how the house would look when completed. We hang it in our bedroom. It was the first thing I saw in morning when I woke up and last I looked at when I went to bed. It was a matter time, but now I live in that house that was once in my mind.

This same principle was given to Abraham by GOD.

Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15: 5-6)

Every time Abraham looked at the night sky, he visualized his future generation.

When you visit some companies or corporations, you will see framed images of what they do or stand for. You will see big letters of the Vision and Mission. This is to sub-consciously make the employees to think about attaining this company’s goals when at work. This same principle is used in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches, paintings of Jesus, Mary, the saints and angels are on the walls, ceiling and in windows of the church. When you enter the church, your mind is immediately tuned into a state of prayer and a feeling of holiness of the church. Advertisers will always show you the same image on TV or bill boards to influence your purchasing decision by use of this principle.

Where have you seen a displayed visual image that has greatly impacted you? Can you write your experience?

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

For your goals or life aspirations get corresponding images or pictures that you can deposit in the sub-conscious mind. Make cuttings from newspapers, magazines or download images from the internet and place them where you will see them regularly.

Step 4 THE MIRROR TECHNIQUE

In morning when you wake up and before you sleep read your goals infront of the mirror. Speak out loud your affirmations. This will help build your confidence and faith in attaining your goal or dream.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:3)

We see that for whatever GOD created he created by speaking. We are in the image of GOD as written in Genesis 1:26 , “ And God said; Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creep upon the earth.”

We have GOD within us and his creative power resides within us. We have been creating negatively by speaking about what we don’t want most of the time. But we are challenged to create just as GOD created by speaking into being what we desire to see.

Job confirms the power of the spoken when he said, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” (Job 22:28)

Step 5: MEDITATE ON GOD’S PROMISES.

Meditation is like squeezing juice out of an orange. The juice exists but you squeeze it out. The word of GOD has many promises to uplift humanity but man keeps suffering. By meditating on the promises of GOD, you are able to hold a mental image of the accomplished promise. Once this is impressed onto the sub conscious mind, then you will attain its fruit in due time.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8)

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen; I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalms 46: 10)

Being still helps us to listen to GOD’s still small voice and we are able to get clear direction on what to do in various situations. That divine wisdom and inner compass saves time, resources and money and brings forth hidden truths.

“But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, are the things which God has prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Sometimes we go through life struggling yet all we need is meditate on GOD’s word so that He can reveal what eyes and ears have not perceived yet. And when we follow through His instructions, then our lives and those of our loved ones are immensely transformed.

Write down your favorite scriptures that correspond to GOD’s promises for the needs or goals you have.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Step 6: TAKE ACTION

Faith without actions is dead. Take a corresponding action based on what you believe GOD for. Stop procrastinating. Take act now!

“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?  Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
(James 2: 14-18)

When you have a thought or idea and you still feel strongly about it, that is the time to take action. I always hear people say, I thought about that idea 2 years ago, and now see someone else has done the exact business or thing I thought about and are successful but I just didn’t take action.

Set priorities of your goals and make an effort to do something about them every-day. If you have relationship goals, make friends or propose. If you plan to build, look for land and make a house plan. If you are looking for a job, send applications to companies and prepare your- self for an interview. Always take a corresponding action to your dreams and goals on a daily basis.

“Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established” (Proverbs 16:3). What you commit to GOD and act upon, and hold  in your mind
(thoughts)  will be established (manifested) in the physical world.

Write an action plan of what you plan to do in correspondence to each of your goals or dreams.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Step 7: BE THANKFUL.

When someone gives you something you thank them. By being thankful to GOD that you have received by faith what you asked even before seeing it, continues to cement and bring those things into your life.

Be thankful for your health, wealth, friends, weather, land and much more.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

“And whateveryou do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17)

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17)

Write a list of things you are thankful for.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The principles shared in these pages are universal principles that have been shared through the world history by a number of authors or writers from various back-grounds. I choose to re-echo them in a simple and summarized manner that will make them easy for you to grasp and apply them in your life. I hope they change your life like my was greatly impacted and transformed.
